The Schultz Fund

Scholarships that turn rescues
into therapy dogs.

The fund raises money through GPRA donations and awards it as training scholarships — so any Great Pyrenees adopted through Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta can become a certified therapy dog.

1

Adopt through GPRA

The scholarship is available for any Pyr adopted through Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta. Already have your gentle giant? You're eligible.

2

Plan the training

Choose a therapy-dog training program and sketch your plan — what kind of therapy work you and your Pyr want to do, and where.

3

Apply & get funded

Submit the Schultz Scholarship application. Awarded scholarships cover the cost of having your Pyr trained and certified.

What therapy dogs do

Comfort, on four paws.

Certified therapy dogs visit hospitals, senior homes, schools, and disaster sites to offer calm and connection. With their steady temperament and huggable size, Great Pyrenees are naturals — easy to reach from a bed or wheelchair, and famously patient.

One of GPRA's own adoptees, Clarice, was trained at Comprehensive Pet Therapy — read her story.
